Are you gay?

This is a real question. Who wants to know? Parents, friends, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and all the rest of them. Believe it or not, knowing if you’re lesbian, gay or bisexual isn’t always obvious. Can porn help?

The benefits of watching porn, besides being a huge turn-on for many people, is that you can discern which sex acts are of interest, which sex acts you like, if you react strongly for or against certain images.

Will it help you know if you’re a lesbian? Or bisexual? Or something else?

What about transgender impulses? There are whole cultures of transgender people who are not necessarily transsexual but who dress and behave in ways traditionally different than their given gender. In the Chicago Reader‘s blog The Straight Dope, Cecil Adams captures the essence of what psychiatry terms “gender identity disorder”: “you think you’re the wrong sex, and you’re not happy about it.”

On the other hand, “What’s So Bad About a Boy Who Wants to Wear a Dress?” the New York Times Magazine asked not long ago. Gender-fluid is the way they describe parenting boys who like girls’ stuff.

Sex Tips: How to Introduce Kink

Whether you’ve been together for decades or just hooking up, introducing kink to your relationship shouldn’t be embarrassing or difficult. We recommend going slow, and depending on how serious you are, it may involve some lessons.

Lesson #1. Put away 50 Shades of Grey.

Assuming kink hasn’t been in your sex life from the beginning, adding kinky sex to your arsenal can spark a relationship and ensure you’re never bored. Lesbian bed death? No way!

Do you know what you want? Perhaps you’ve seen pictures or videos of lovers tying each other up or you like the idea of spanking.

If you don’t know what you want, take some time to look around the Web and watch videos. No question, we always recommend watching porn!

Lesson #2. Express yourself.

There are myriad ways to tell your sweetie you want to kink it up in bed. Here are two that work: 1) Just do it while you’re making love. Spank her lightly. Queer Schmear

We’ll write more about this in a future issue of the Fatale Media Blog, but we want to clarify what we mean by “queer porn,” which is at this point mostly lesbian but not 100%.

Some of you have asked, for example, about Roulette by Courtney Trouble , with it’s boy-boy scene smack dab in the middle of the lesbian scenes.

Queer Manor, the new DVD by Madison Young, however, is by our definition pure lesbian. Don’t be fooled by the title.

We went to Courtney Trouble and asked her how she defines queer. Here’s what she said:

“Queer Porn can be any combination of boys, girls, transfolk and genderqueers, doing any combination of things, be it sweet, romantic, vanilla, kinky, experimental or rough. Queer is a word used by those whose sexuality does not fit so easily with what society has given us to choose from. For instance, I don’t fit into a lesbian description because I am attracted to more than just women in my sexual fantasies and in my daily life.

“As well, I don’t feel ‘bisexual’ because I like more than two gender identities. I try to mix a little bit of everything into my films, proving that the diversity of desire is more than just LGBT, and sometimes, who we are does not dictate what we watch to get off.”

Thanksgiving and What’s New

As Thanksgiving approaches, we’ve been mulling over this past year with a sense of amazement and even hope.
