Sexy February

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Was February ever this romantic and sexy? It feels like a thaw, some sort of easing of tension. Everything is relaxed suddenly. How did that happen?

We had a lovely Valentine’s Day – here’s our Valentine’s Day blog posting, short and sweet about how we celebrated.

Then we watched two new DVDs just in from France. Oooh-la-la. Nice. They’ll be available soon, and we’ll let you know as soon as they are. (Can’t wait? Here’s a French lesbian DVD to make you wet wet wet!)

We’re glad it’s a long weekend here in the U.S., to celebrate Presidents’ Day. We get to sleep in, relax some more, enjoy each other. Watch some more sexy movies!

Yours in good love and sex,

Nan & Christi

Q&A: Ask Fanny – How to Have an Orgasm

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Deborah Sundahl Female Ejaculation ExpertG-spot expert Deborah Sundahl, a.k.a. Fanny Fatale, answers your questions about female ejaculation and the g-spot.

Dear Fanny,

I am 20 years old and have a girlfriend, but I can’t orgasm. She has been really good at helping me try, but I still can’t. I don’t like doing it myself either; it just doesn’t feel good.  I wish I could have an orgasm, but I don’t know what to do and feel I should reach out for some help now.

Renee

Dallas, TX

Dear Renee,

I suggest that you make a concerted effort to have your orgasm by yourself first, and give your partner a rest. It is hard on the relationship and a lot of work for the partner, without the reward or pleasure. Better to keep your relationship free of a hard burden that is mostly your affair anyway.

What to do? You can start with these three things:

1. Read this wonderful book on how to have an orgasm. Becoming Orgasmic by Julia Heiman and Joseph LoPiccolo–here’s the Powell’s Books link–takes you step by step through the elements of female orgasm and guides you to fitting sexuality into other areas of your life.

Betty Dodson and Carlin Ross2. Check out this new video, Betty Dodson’s Body Sex Workshop.

Betty Dodson is called the Mother of Masturbation because since the 1960s, she has been teaching women how to have an orgasm. Back then, very few woman had orgasms, and it was a feminist mission to change that sad fact. Now 83 years old, she is still going strong! Aided by her younger business partner, Carlin Ross, they just finished another video of Betty’s famous workshop teaching women to ejaculate. Enjoy and learn!

3. Lastly, ask yourself what is it about touching your body that bothers you? Breath and relax into the touch. Notice what keeps you from relaxing into the touch. Be very aware of what crosses your mind, or what images comes up. This is your issue. Take this and work with it, either through simple awareness that this is the problem, or perhaps the help of a therapist.  But first, read the book and watch the video!

Pleasure will be yours! Give yourself time and permission, that’s all.

5 Surefire Valentine’s Day Gifts

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Valentine’s Day gifts tend to have a predictable rhythm that nonetheless is tried and true, oftentimes expected and not at all dreary in that you can be creative, there’s some variation on the themes.

Chocolates? Yes! Flowers? Definitely!

In our experience, it’s what goes with the chocolates and flowers that can take Valentine’s Day from being just another gift-giving holiday to something special and memorable.

With that in mind, we offer five surefire Valentine’s Day gift ideas:

Where the Heart Is Special Delivery1.  Where the Heart Is. The most romantic of all Fatale’s gift sets, this 3-DVD set also has the worthwhile amateur Afterschool Special mixed in. Carolyn Caizzi’s lovely real-life couples come alive in the other videos included in this set. Free Priority Mail shipping in the U.S.

2. Butch/Femme Rules. This 3-DVD set is a mash-up of romance (Special Delivery by Carolyn Caizzi), classic Nina Hartley with the remarkable Miss Sharon Mitchell (Suburban Dykes) and pure lust (Hard Love and How to Fuck in High Heels by Shar Rednour). Free Priority Mail shipping in the U.S.

Talk to Me Baby3. Talk to Me Baby. For an under $30 gift, Shar Rednour’s Talk to Me Baby is perfect for gay or straight, queer or trans, male or female. Everybody should know how to talk dirty, and this is the definitive tape. First class shipping in the U.S. costs only $2.95.

Nostalgia4. Nostalgia. We were talking with an old friend and longtime Fatale Media customer the other day. He told us that his favorite  Courtney Trouble video was Nostalgia. We went back and watched it again and were once again simply delighted! This is an excellent video, a queer porn parody starring all manner of lesbians. Under $30, with domestic shipping starting at $2.95.

5. Sugar High Glitter City. If your sweetie has a sweet tooth, this is definitely the Valentine’s Day gift that will satisfy her yearnings. Nominated for Best Soundtrack, Best All-Girl Feature and Best All-Girl Sex Scene by AVN, this is one of our favorites by far. Another excellent under $30 gift with a reasonable ($2.95) domestic shipping fee.

Camera Club Girls Art Show

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

This art show is one we’ll be at for sure this coming Friday evening.

From the Au Boudoir Web site:
“The first public showing of the Rudolph Rossi original photographs of the 1950s. Rossi was an amateur photographer who took part in the informal ‘camera club’ outings around New York City during the early 1950s. Among the models hired for these illegal photography sessions was Bettie Page, where she was discovered. Rossi (along with noted photographer Weegee and others) photographed Page and dozens of her friends…”

The photographs were hand-colored, and more photos can be seen in the book Camera Club Girls: Bettie Page, Her Friends and the Work of Rudolph Rossi, by Jim Linderman.  The author’s blog is Vintage Sleaze, www.vintagesleaze.blogspot.com.

Takin’ It To the Streets

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

We were in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago, when the Minneapolis SlutWalk took place, on October 1st, 2011.

The Minneapolis SlutWalk video, courtesy of Mill City Times, shows a typical cross-section of relatively young, relatively white Minneapolis, a city that with its sister city of St. Paul has a population of approximately three-quarters of a million people. That’s where Nan went to college, too, at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

SlutWalk Minneapolis was bound to be tamer than SlutWalk London, which was held in June, or SlutWalk New York, which was also held on October 1, 2011.

More men, it seemed, were in attendance at the Minneapolis protest, than at other protests. One was shirtless. The state was breaking autumn heat wave records, and it has turned out to be the hottest stretch in 132 years. In the 80s every day, ugh.

SlutWalks originated last spring 2011 in Toronto, when, according to a CBC report, a Toronto police constable in January told a York University personal security class that “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.”

The antiviolence SlutWalk protests are sex-positive, unlike the mostly anti-porn Take Back the Night marches of the 1970s and 1980s, before women reclaimed their right to be sexual beings.

In response, and an historic turning point, On Our Backs was born, the brainchild of Deborah Sundahl, Nan Kinney, Myrna Elena and Susie Bright.

Women and lesbians began celebrating sex and sexuality in a way they hadn’t before. Women’s desires were shown in all their glory in On Our Backs magazine and those first Fatale videos.

For a perfect example of a now-classic lesbian video, don’t miss Fatale Media’s Clips. Nan and Deb star, and there is one scene in there from Deborah that is still our favorite.

New Poll: Teachers and Students?

Friday, September 30th, 2011

We read with interest the article about the naughty teacher who’s been charged with inappropriately sexting her student. Here’s the Huffington Post article about the Chicago-area high-school teacher.

In our last poll, we asked if you enjoyed sexting, and it seems like now and then it’s not such a bad thing. View the September 2011 poll results.

The article about the sexting teacher got us thinking, though: When you were a student, did you ever have an intimate relationship with your teacher?

Vote now! The poll is on Fatale’s home page.

We’ll give you the results next month.

Until then, we wish you deliciously hot sex,

Nan and Christi

Ask Fanny: Finding Time for Romance

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

In “Ask Fanny,” a regular Fatale Media newsletter column, G-spot expert Deborah Sundahl, a.k.a. Fanny Fatale, answers your questions about female ejaculation and the g-spot.

Deborah Sundahl Female Ejaculation ExpertDear Fanny,
I have three kids in grade school and to be honest our lovemaking is taking a beating. There just is no time for quality time together sexually, much less learn about female ejaculation, which seem to take a lot of time to learn.

Do you have any suggestions?

Signed,

Swamped in Pennsylvania

Dear Swamped,
Every parent I know has the same problem, and yet the answer is what parent guides have been saying for years: you must take time for your relationship!

I firmly believe that once a month you MUST schedule a weekend together, alone and uninterrupted. Sexuality and lovemaking and time together form the glue that keeps your relationship strong. If you starve it, you end up hurting the entire family in the end. You must put your relationship first, and you must spend the money to invest in this.

Often, the grandparents are all too happy to babysit the kids. One couple I know had 10 brothers and sisters and grandparents all in town, happy to watch the kids, but he didn’t want to “impose.” For one thing, cousins want to see each other, and second, to the vast majority of grandparents, their grandkids are the most important thing in their life and gives them great joy. I told him he was not only robbing his immediately family but his extended family as well.

No family around?  You must develop your neighborhood network of swapping and watching one another’s kids.

Logistics and commitment aside, once you have a weekend together, believe me you will have plenty of time to learn how to female ejaculate!

Practice, practice, practice. That’s the key, in my experience, to learning new sexual techniques.

When you see how good you feel and how restored your relationship is, you won’t hesitate to make time for you and your sweetheart.

Good luck!

Fanny
